9th April - Bank Holiday Monday - Ricky Lane as Bernard Manning
Ricky Lane as Bernard Manning is the ULTIMATE tribute show!
Nearly all tribute artistes have a weakness, either the look is right and the voice/act is weaker or vice versa….. NOT WITH THIS ACT!
The show was purposely premiered at the home of Bernard Manning… The World famous Embassy Club in Manchester, that Bernard ran for over 40 years. The result was a packed house, consisting of hundreds of long standing Bernard fans PLUS the entire Manning family….the reaction was “WOW”! Ricky enjoyed a standing ovation and Bernard Manning Jr commented “I just could not believe my eyes and ears.. I could swear it was my Dad walking on that stage!”

13th April - Friday - Medieval Night @ The Kings Croft Hotel
It is the year of our Lord 1543 and the nights are drawing dark and cold,there is a chill in the air the fine distinguished people of the historic Five Towns of Pontefract are cordially invited to the very grand opening of its Portcullis of the Kings Croft for a Royal Banquet. The scene is set in a tranquil piece ofthe fine country manor,peace and quiet is about to be shattered for ever! The De Floggit family will entertain you for the night with a feast fitfor only you, the royal subjects of the Five Towns. The mead and red wine will floweth all night bringing merriment, there will be a singing and a dancing to the melodies played to your ears. Dancing, Disco till1am no later or it will be off with your head!

21st June (Thursday) 12.30pm - Ladies Day @ Ascot - Kings Croft Race Night
A great excuse to get all dressed up and have some serious fun betting on the horses. With a 14' massive screen and some of the best racing to be seen with photo finishes, roaring crowds along with a superb 4 course dinner. It will be a great day.
17th June (Sunday - Fathers day) - Lee lard as Peter Kay
This is Lee's 3rd or 4th time here at The Kings Croft and thats because he gives a great performance time after time. Talk about laugh, last time I saw him I fell off my chair. Really this is not one to be missed. So why not treat that special man in your life to a great night out.

There is NO FRUIT IN THE WORLD THAT HAS ITS SEED/ S OUTSIDE!!!!
It is Botanically and Scientifically Wrong; still the misconception exists due to the preconceived ideas about fruits and seeds and the lack of botanical knowledge.
This is my humble attempt to clear it and put the things (In this case fruit and seed) in their right perspective.
Explanations below are immediately followed by the relevant illustration /s. Just click on that link.
1) In a flower there is an ovary which is the female reproductive part or a part of the female reproductive system. (Stigma and style are the other two parts, broadly speaking).
Inside the ovary there is one to many ovules (THEY ARE ALWAYS INSIDE AND NEVER OUTSIDE. THIS IS CRUCIAL PART TO UNDERSTAND).Now the illustrations ---

2) During pollination the pollen grains carrying the male gamete land on the stigma and give out a pollen tube for fertilization. Now for the illustrations ----

3) During fertilization the pollen tube passes through the ovule and male and female gametes unite.See the same illustrations above .
4) Now , during the post-fertilization changes the ovule/s are turned in to SEED/S and the ovary turns in to a FRUIT. THUS THE SEED/S ARE ALWAYS INSIDE A FRUIT .

In Strawberry the pips are the fruits(brown in color and enclosing a single seed INSIDE !!!) and the red juicy part is the base of the flower that has undergone enlargement to attract the agents of seed dispersal including man!!

In cashew nut like wise it is the flower base that is juicy and yellow orange in color.
Real kidney shaped fruit is attached to it and encloses the seed which is the real cashew of commerce ( Salted roasted or plain !!!)
